At the start of 2021 after 12 months of planning and testing, Kirkstall Precision went live a new ERP system to give us full transparency and control over all our decision making. With the help of Access FactoryMaster, we started rolling out the new ERP system across all aspects of our business.
Nearly four months in, working with the new system, we thought now would be a great time to showcase how the system has had a positive impact on our business, not only in terms of production scheduling, but also in terms of the day-to-day running of our business.
The impact the ERP has had at Kirkstall Precision Engineering.
Feed Back from our employees
Our head of production, Craig Dowling, is a huge fan of the new ERP system and can’t wait for the next phase of it to be introduced as he can already see the benefits it will bring to our customers and our people.
He commented that: “The new system is working very well in such a short time. I am looking forward to stage two where we integrate a new planning module to the system to further aid production planning.”
Another huge fan of the ERP system is Matt Davis, Finishing Manager. Who commented that: “The system allows me to easily control the issuing of complex assemblies and makes the booking out and shipping process flow, incredibly smooth. This enables us to maintain our customer deliveries and ensure their expectations are maintained.”
Helping us maintain quality precision engineering products.
From helping us demonstrate compliance with our clients’ QA demands as well as ISO9001 and ISO13485 to better management reports and automated material ordering. The new ERP system has been a big hit also in our QA area, with Ania Termanowska, Quality Inspector, commenting that: “The new system enables us to see all the required inspection documentation in one place. This also allows us to make notes and communicate to the other teams easily.”
Linus Gallagher QA Apprentice, also thinks the ERP system has brought some huge benefits to the business and its efficiencies and ability to deliver exceptional precision engineered products. He stated that: “The system gives us very good traceability and control of all the materials we use. The barcode system makes the process easy and with the scanning it takes away the chance of human error.”
And last, but by no means least, Danny Hall, CNC Milling Team Leader, has been incredibly impressed with the improvements the new ERP system has brought, he stated that: “Now we have got to speed with the new system it is giving us some very useful information. The ease and access to the required drawings is good and the logging of time is giving us good performance information against our quoted information.”
