Vacancy 1: Finishing Technician Day Shift

Core Skills:

  • Mechanically inclined team player.

Detailed Job Overview & Duties

JOB OVERVIEW:

Finishes and assembles products partially or completely, working at a bench or on the shop floor. Operates various types of powered de-burring, finishing, heat treatment, welding equipment and polishers to handcraft parts in order to the agrees quality standards, etc. whilst maintaining specified contours and tolerances. The finishing Technician will hold and/or create correct dimensions of radii, boss size, wall thickness, surface finish, etc on all parts. Will be able to inspect and rework parts as specified by Quality Assurance Department. Should demonstrate good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity and the desire to work in a manufacturing environment. It is vital to have strong safety orientation, also some tasks require sitting and standing and focus for long periods of time. 

Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere to obtain common goals and objectives.

MAIN DUTIES:    

  • Have the required level of competency required in the following processes within the finishing operations, checking quality of external anodising, shot blasting, heat treatment process, passivation, ultrasonic cleaning process, electro polishing, polishing Spindles, hand held polishing tools, technical assembly, TIG Welding, laser welding.

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies, Ability to work to close tolerances on intricate small assembly work
  • Be able to read and interpret engineering level mechanical drawings
  • Be able to conduct in-process inspection processes confirming compliance to specifications
  • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality. 
  • To conduct in-process inspection on components made within their departments and areas of responsibility.  
  • Support the Quality Manager in monitoring and progressing quality assurance and quality control initiatives and produce reports relating to each job manufactured and any non-conformances
  • Ensure all quality records are fully completed and accurate.
  • Maintain SFDC records for all work orders processed.
  • Must maintain safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to the companies 5’S philosophy and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Must maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements (daily check sheets); following manufacturer’s instructions where required; reporting repairs to your line manager or relevant personnel
  • Have 20/20 vision (natural or corrected).

JOB OVERVIEW: Producing machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machinery; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. 

MAIN DUTIES:    

  • Studying and adhering to work orders correctly, following engineering plans, material requirements, specifications, and technical drawings correctly.
  • Configure CNC milling machinery by entering data, including zero and reference points; setting tooling, offsets, utilising and proving out programs using data supplied and reference components.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; troubleshooting processes; editing programs; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality. Punctuality is a key discipline.
  • To conduct in-process inspection on components made within their departments and areas of responsibility.

To ensure that all manufacturing resources required for the production process are available, operational, and maintained so that the production system is able to operate effectively and efficiently with a focus on Quality and On Time Delivery (OTD). 

The CAM Production Engineer will be liaising with all departments involved in the product realization process, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the customers and Kirkstall Precisions requirements and ensure the product realization process is followed.

You will be evaluating the systems and software requirements for the manufacturing processes and developing new programs when required.

Through analysis you will look to improve manufacturing efficiency, you will design new manufacturing methods, provide manufacturing information into the ERP system, review production schedules, estimate future requirements, prepare product and process reports and complete design and development projects using CAD / CAM software’s. You will be responsible for transferring this information into the Factory Master ERP system.
